The Indian Haryanvi boxer Vijender Singh was defeated by his Russian opponent Artush Lopsan. In the 'Battle on Ship' in Goa, Vijender, the bronze medalists of the Beijing Olympic Games, 2008, entered the bout and lost. At six feet four, the Russian Boxer used his height efficiently. Vijender could be seen being cautious in his strategy since Artysh had out punched Vijender on the rooftop of the 'Majestic Pride Casino' ship on the waters of the Mandovi River.
Artysh Lopsan perfectly matched the immensely experienced Vijender. He made outstanding use of his hook, jabs and crosses, and focused on turning Vijender. The 26 years old Lopsan projected the perfect demonstration against Vijender.
Vijender continued to face tough competition and was getting tired after a couple of rounds. Artysh managed to scrape every ounce of energy out of Vijender's body. In the fifth round after one minute and nine seconds, the referee declared Artysh Lopsan the winner. Vijender was knocked out in the end.
